All Day

Friday 27th April to Friday 4th May

Here is an invitation to join our community as we take a journey into the wildwood to celebrate the festival of Beltane.  As spring gives way to summer, join us at Wildways, in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, for a magical week of ritual, journeying and communal sharing of space. We come together in reverence and mirth, and in the spirit of the White Horse Camps.

This year we will explore the ancient tale of Lleu Llaw Gyffes ‘the fair haired one with the skillful hand’ and Blodeuwedd, maiden of the flowers. Following the story, we will enter into the deep workings of the God and the Goddess.

The week will include a closed period (Monday 30th April to Wednesday 1st May) when we will hold our God and Goddess lodges. You will be asked to choose which you wish to journey with for that period.  Out of the lodges will come our representatives to be the lord and lady of the land.

In addition Greywolf, chief of the BDO, will be leading us on a journey to meet the trickster magician Gwydion.  Professor Ronald Hutton and his partner Ana Adnan will be sharing tales from the Mabinogion with us. There will be a Maypole to dance round, a party night, an eistedfodd and a guided nature walk.  The camp will close with our traditional Beltane Fires ceremony and there will be many other treats in store, including the mysterious Playful Awakenings workshop.

The events team for the camp are Hilde Liesens and Richard Wombat, who will also be holding our Goddess Lodge this year.  The God Lodge will be run by John Lamb and Debby Flavell.  Philip Shallcrass (Greywolf) and Amanda Foale-Hart will be facilitating our bardic journeying work on the opening weekend.  Please come and join us as we welcome in the summer with a roar of love and a quiet breath of peace.

** Please note, at this camp we will be holding a lodge to thank our out-going events and kitchen leads, and to vote in two new leads into those positions.  This lodge will take place on Saturday 28th April at 4pm.
